Mitch Crispell, an active student within DSA, performed for the Obamas and a small audience last week as part of the sixth installment of the White House Music Series. Through friends of a dance company he was chosen to perform as a back-up dancer in the Broadway rendition of “You Can’t Stop the Beat” from Hairspray. In addition to performing, Mitch met the Obamas, as well as, other Broadway performers.
Mitch is majoring in Organizational Studies and minoring in Community Action and Social Change. He currently serves as an Honors Residential Advisor in Housing, a panelist in the Spectrum Center Speakers Bureau, and is a member of Ahava. This fall he will be on the DSA Advisory Board with Royster Harper. On top of all of this, he even finds time to take Zumba dance through Rec Sports UMove.
